Laureano Corces, Associate Professor of Spanish, holds a Master and a Ph.D. from New York University focusing on Peninsular Spanish Literature. He also earned License and Maîtrise degrees from Sorbonne-Nouvelle University (Paris, France) in Drama Studies. His research focuses on Spanish theatre, namely the Golden Age and contemporary works, including selected Latin American authors. Recent articles include: “Technology Takes Center Stage in Four Plays from the Current Decade” (Etudes 4.1, 2018) and Gertrudis Gómez de Avellaneda: a Feminist Life and Its Discourse in Women’s Emancipation Writing at the Fin de Siècle (New York: Routledge, 2018). He is particularly interested in any literary work that establishes a dialogue with Hispanic texts and how multicultural discourse addresses key concerns in the age of globalization.
