Shakespeare en devenir

Víctor Huertas-Martín studied English Philology at the Autonomous University of Madrid, then took an MA Degree in Literary and Theatrical Training and Research in the European Context at the National Distance Education University (UNED) and a PhD in English Literature. His research interests focus on hybridity and space in screen Shakespeares and the relations between the audiovisual arts and literature. Having published a number of articles in journals such as Sederi Yearbook, Atlantis, Literature/Film Quarterly, Shakespeare Bulletin, Cahiers Élisabéthains, Revista Española de Estudios Norteamericanos and others, and a book chapter in Eating Shakespeare: Cultural Anthropophagy as Methodology (Bloomsbury Academics, 2019), he is also co-editor–with Dr. Reto Winckler–of the volume of essays Considering Television Series as Literature, to be published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2021. As a member of the Research Project EMOTHE (University of Valencia), he is the translator and editor of the first Spanish version of Elizabeth Cary’s The Tragedy of Mariam. He has been a Visiting Scholar to University College of London, Shakespeare Institute, Instituto Benjamin Franklin and Pompeu Fabra University. Currently, he is an Assistant Lecturer at the University of Valencia and a collaborating teacher at UNED, where he co-teaches “Shakespeare in Popular Culture” and “Literature and Cinema.”
